1.. Canada has to properly control social members

For revitalizing economy, effectively attracting foreign investment is very important, and it has been common practice world widely; Jan. 16, 2017, inspired by the rational practice of the US’s mayors, I once wrote article 62 cities of the United States compete for the investment of one manufacturer of China.

In Canada, it seems lack of such rational consensus socially. Follows the article China Wants Total Access To Canada, May Seek To Import Its Own workers in March 25, 2017, there were many readers expressed their strong opposition with various worries.

There was no one ask that why China insists to employ workers from own country? There was no one talk about the difference of the quality of the labors between Canada and China. There was no one recognized that if there is no high quality labor for developing economy, there would be no personal future.

Historically, human beings have been suffering endless wars, colonial expansion battling, endless religious killing; the world has been deemed as a casino for free looting and killing. As higher animal, human beings have never been able to enjoy a civilization as that of higher animal should be, but, sustained in the civilization that belongs to lower animal under the Law of the jungle.

In Canada’s workplace, I associated people from nearly every corner throughout the world; by purposely oral survey, some countries have no law system, even if they have one, but cannot be effectively executed, the people from such places was cultured with uncommon life philosophies – viewing the thieving behavior as normal, the snatching act as hero; such as, that the act of pirate is a typical hero, since those looters also share the loots to the people in own community.

Cruel reality proved that, on the earth, though all people have human feature, but not all people have human nature. If a country cannot properly develop economy, cannot properly perform material wealth creation, but, to be sustained in chaotic and poverty, the low quality of the national is one of the reasons; since that it is not all people can be trained as qualified labor to perform the creation for self life-necessities; even if they cannot live in a civilized manner.

As a rational government, especially those who held the power for national decision making, the quality control for the citizen must take as first priority, and should take the creation of a livable social environment as first concern. In this regard, it needn’t greater morality as all, but, only selfishly think for the kids of own family, that will be enough with perfect result; selfness is not always bad, some time it can play a effective role as greater morality in actual practice.

Then, what the high quality citizen is?

Sep. 20, 2015, there was report that Israel plans to bring in 20,000 Chinese construction workers to help build new apartments as part of efforts to lower housing costs, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explain the reason: Chinese's pace of work in building high-risers was 50 percent higher than that of Israelis, Palestinians and others.

If we look back at history, no one would doubt that, If there was no China's workers great contribution, there would be no Western and Atlantic Railroad of the United States and the Pacific Railway of Canada.

In recent decades, the high speed economic development and the great improvement of nationals’ life have proved the rationality in social governance of China; it also proved the high organizational quality, high organizable quality and high labor quality…

Such quality should be taken as common standard as qualified human beings.

In Canada, for years, the extreme low productivity and manufacturing decline has caused widespread concern and controversy, as my view according to my observation from working in different manufacturers in past 16 years, in the contribution of low productivity, the low quality of labor was in playing significant role.

It would be no hope for a nation, if it filled with the nationals in poor quality and even eagerly to be organized to full heartedly fight for more by doing less with a poor work ethic, by taking reaping without sowing as proud of.

There a shocking comment proved poor work ethic of some Canadians, which was from the follows of Oct. 1, 2012 article Canada’s productivity lags U.S. in ‘virtually every instance: Deloitte.

Bernard comment in 2 years ago: “being an immigrant from Germany I can tell you my perspective of lacking productivity in Canada: looking around in the office I see people dropping in sometimes between 9 and 10 am. Not much later they are off for a coffee break. Then there is lunch break and another coffee break. Leaving around 4pm, because there is some important fishing or hunting or other outdoor stuff on the agenda.”

“Any more questions about productivity?”

“I mean, I really appreciate work-life balance. But what I experience is overdone.”

Note, for this article, I searched and found the comment was deleted already; and the writer Mr. Dan Ovsey did not work in financialpost any more; now is the Director of Public Relations at Livingston International.

After read above comment, I think of a few years ago in Toronto, in a government agency; there a lot of people were waiting in line. From the perspective of the number of idle office chairs, there should be a lot of people who were work here, but only there two staff were servicing for the customers. Finally, there are other two staff came in, the people who were waiting in line were pleased for that was able to speed up. However, the two came-in staff has not sat down yet; the original two in working immediately got up and left away.

Long time waiting in the government agencies seems a common matter in Canada, which is not mainly due to short in manpower, but also the poor work ethic – the quality of the labor.

Advisory Council on Economic Growth suggests for a 50-per-cent increase in targets to 450,000 people a year in immigration as long term blueprint of Canada.

However, as an immigrant country, Canada is not only needed more immigrant, but, more importantly has to properly control the quality of new comers, otherwise …

In this regards, the rational practice started already.

Aug 10, 2016, there was report Canada seeks to double visa offices in China to attract more high-skilled workers.

Aug. 17, 2016, article Canada wants more Chinese workers, students & tourists said that immigration Minister John McCallum says the Liberal government is trying to make it easier for Chinese tourists, students and temporary workers to get visas to come to Canada.

Aug 31, 2016, there was report Canada to announce the opening of 7 new visa offices in China.

April 13, 2016,  Bombardier Inc says Chicago 'rigged' US$1.3-billion transit contract bidding process said that: Bombardier Inc. says the Chicago Transit Authority “rigged” the bidding process for a US$1.3-billion contract so that a Chinese venture would win, and is demanding that it award the work to Bombardier instead.

But, Bombardier seems ignored a key factor that rival China submitted the offer for 1.13 billion US dollars, which was $ 226 million lower than that of Bombardier bid.

Sep 23, 2016, there was report that China's CRRC, Bombardier to join forces on international bids: Canada's Bombardier Inc and the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) , longstanding partners in the Chinese domestic rail market, they had expanded their relationship to join forces on international bids."The agreement sets the stage for us to win more joint bids, both in China and worldwide," said Mike Nadolski, a spokesman for Montreal-headquartered Bombardier.

Here, there was a potential problem planted already, it was that the difference in the efficiency of production, in same number of people with same amount of payment, the output of China side may be 30 to 40% more than that of Canada side (not 50% as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said); then, how to distribute the profit. Even if equally divided income and tasks, Canada side will certainly less profit.

April 12, 2017, there was report that Germany's Siemens and Canada's Bombardier are in talks to combine their rail operations, media reports have said. If successful, the move would strengthen their hand against the market leader from China, CRRC.

As my view, such measure will be helpless when competing with the rival from China. I am clear that my arbitrary judgment may anger most of Canadians, but, later you will be convinced by what I will be discussed.

In view above, as my view, for long term concern that the competitiveness of China will increasingly strong and finally, there would be no one can compete with,

Now I suggest that, as the way in no way out, the only feasible way is that Canada should seek cooperation as that of carpool with China in multi-aspect, especially by joint venture as that of Germany is doing.

The practice and the idea were rational in line with long-term interests of Canada, but, it may certainly encounter social resistance as that of readers’ comments.

Jan 13, 2016, in article Why did China not produce harmful native religions, I introduced a true case in 2400 years ago China, it was Ximen Bao Throwing the Witch into the River, after threw witch into river to stop the evil of killing innocent girl and cheating money in the name of avoiding flooding by pleasing river God, in order to eliminate the river floods, the magistrate Ximen Bao organizes people to build canals for shunting river water to irrigate farmland, but people did not want to do such a hard job; then the Ximen Bao forced them to finish the canals.

At the time, the Ximen Bao made a famous comment by talking to those unhappy people: “the ordinary people can only share enjoying success but cannot share the initiation of the success. Though you may hate me for causing you troubles in today, but, a century later, your descendants will surely thank of what I said today.”

Rare people recognized the great contribution of the ancient magistrate Ximen Bao for the culture and social governance of China; his rational practice was not only avoided the emergence of native religion in China, so as to avoid the dead harm of political and religious mixed, but also put the government a rational approach in exercising governing power.

I would like to say that, it was the ancient magistrate Ximen Bao, a rational individual who has paved China a rational way. It was the reason that China developed as strong country again in about 30 years period after interrupted by the two times Opium War that started 1839 and Sino-Japanese War with huge amount brutal predatory money claims, which totally weakened the Qing dynasty

The wisdom of ancient China lessons us that a rational government has to enforce people to do something that will be beneficial to them, but, do not expect to convince them in advance.

Today, in dealing with foreign workers from China, Canada is in facing similar situation as that of ancient China.

The practice of attracting foreign investment and high quality labors relates national economy; it should not be misleading by public arguments; besides exercises arbitrary, we should also make positively guidance.

Viewing the readers’ comments, in general, the opposition was in two parts.

The concern of the impact of different ideology.

The concern of losing jobs and natural resources.

For the first opposition, it is not easy to reverse; it needs a long way to go with the convincing of the facts gradually. Now, world widely, the views on China are rapidly turning to positive, especially among those talented social elite.

Such as, faced with the incompetence of democratic governance, years ago, the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson were both expressed their deep disappointment and showed strong appreciation for the high efficiency of the government of China.

For the second opposition, there were enough convincing facts already. In acquired overseas companies, some even bankrupted already, but, China’s companies successfully revived them by only brought several management staff from China with hiring middle managements and general labors locally.

Here are some examples.

2.. The examples of China’s companies running acquired foreign businesses

2.1.. China COSCO eightfold increased business of Greek Port

COSCO was China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company.

In June 2005, in Greece, a large-scale strike forced several major shippers anchored in the port of Piraeus to ship the other ports, and the port's throughput fell sharply.

In 2006, COSCO Group and the Greek government in the areas of maritime transport and port reached a consensus on cooperation, November 25, 2008 in Athens, Greece officially signed the Piraeus container terminal franchise agreement. The franchise includes operations, development and commercial use and alteration of Pier 2, construction and operation of Pier 3.

However, on Jan. 27, 2015, the New Greek government stopped the privatization plan of country's largest port - Piraeus port in the day of sworn in. Until April 8, 2016, China COSCO Group with Greece officially signed the agreement for Piraeus Port acquisition and to start actual operation.

Dec. 14, 2015, the Research Scholar and Co-Director of the EU Program at Princeton University, Sophie Meunier who wrote report A Tale of Two Ports: The Epic Story of Chinese Direct Investment in the Greek Port of Piraeus, which introduced concern of the Greeks and the Europeans on foreign direct investment - FDI of China with a strong referential value for Canadians, I except some as follow.

“The management of Piraeus by a Chinese company has captured the public imagination and media attention over the past few years because this was one of the first major Chinese direct investments in the European Union. Piraeus has also become an emblematic story because it touches on all the main concerns surrounding the recent surge of FDI of China in the West, blending economic, labor and geopolitical fears into one single case.”

“Fears of a Chinese “takeover” of Europe are associated with gloomy predictions about Europe’s inexorable decline. The example of Piraeus is symptomatic of this view, since the port is, above all, a symbol of Greece’s past as a powerful shipping nation. A company held by a foreign country taking over what used to be the source of wealth and pride for Greece is a painful reminder that power has been redistributed in the new world economy.”

“Contrary to some initial reports, COSCO did not import its own Chinese laborers; only the six top managers came from China, including the chief executive and Captain; but directly hired a few hundred Greek workers, mostly in administrative and management positions.”

“Chinese investment in Piraeus also led to a tale of two ports economically. Commercial traffic going through the port has increased eightfold since COSCO took over control of the operations of Pier II and, later, Pier III.”

“This is not a zero-sum game where PCT has stolen OLP’s business; a lot of new business has been created. ‘Build it and they will come’ could be PCT’s motto. The initial investment by COSCO is estimated to have created about 1,000 jobs for Greek workers. It has also increased ties between Greece and one of the world’s fastest growing economic regions.”

“There were many positive reports regarding China’s investment the Greek Port of Piraeus.”

Here there was another report.

June, 08, 2016, Greece: Perspectives on Eurasian integration reports that: “The success of COSCO in Piraeus is widely acknowledged. In fact, the numbers speak for themselves – 3,030,000 twenty-foot shipping containers (TEUs) were delivered to piers in Piraeus controlled by the Chinese company in 2015, compared with 2,984,000 in 2014 and 2,520,000 in 2013. China has clearly communicated to Athens that COSCO is the “head of the dragon” in its policy to revive the ancient Silk Road.”

“The Chinese investment in Piraeus is also cause for concern in the EU because it will lead to China wholly controlling the Greek port.”

“Last but not least, it is worth mentioning that China’s future presence in Greece can be facilitated to an extent by its positive public image in the country compared to other European states that want to invest, principally Germany. According to a poll in 2013, 83 percent of respondents in Greece want strong economic relations with China.”

“The recent creation of the association of Chinese companies operating in Greece, including COSCO, Huawei, ZTE, and Air China, is indicative of China’s interest to invest more.”

“The acquisition of the Piraeus Port Authority is not just a Sino-Greek affair. Its importance goes beyond the bilateral context and affects the evolution of Sino-European relations as a whole; the Piraeus deal could be a model for both sides generating new Sino-European interest for partnerships. From a European perspective, it is also important that the president of the newly established China COSCO Shipping Group, Xu Lirong, publicly focuses on the importance of working conditions and environmental guidelines for his company during his official visit to Athens in April 2016.”

2.2.. The U.S. port awarded Port Pilot Award to China COSCO

The port of Long Beach of the United States was an abandoned US naval base; COSCO’s investment certainly encountered great difficulties. Some said that COSCO was a military company, to the United States as a spy to spy on military intelligence, especially, the fatal impact of the Report of the Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial Concerns with the People's Republic of China in January 3, 1999, that submitted by Mr. Cox of California, chairman.

In June 1, 2001, Cosco Group Chairman Wei Jiafu accepted the interview of Washington Times and to be published article Chinese shipper: Sole goal is profits to have removed barrier for the acquisition, and July 2001, the COSCO Holdings' joint venture started to run in the port.

In the documentary of CCTV, Cross - border mergers and acquisitions - the door of the country introduced about COSCO’s running in the port of Long Beach.

81-year-old cable workers Samoudio said: China has a lot of ships come in, COSCO brought us a lot of work, and we are very happy.

Scheduling director Derek said that: “I work here for seven and a half years, and I never worried about the prospect of COSCO, we cooperated very happy; they are very friendly, very helpful and very efficient.”

The documentary also reported that port was 120 acres when COSCO starts the operation in 2001, to the date of documentary in 2011; it was expanded to 256 acres. It meant that, after the COSCO took over, in 10 years period, the port business has been doubled.

April 23, 2016, I once wrote article China Ocean Shipping Company saved the ports in the Greece and the US, in which I said that, China’s shipping and logistics services Supplier Company COSCO difficultly took over operations and saved the ports in Greece and the United States. We need to reflect on that suppose without the help of the people from China, whether those Democratic-Values cultured natives have ability to effectively operate these ports.

The Website of Port of Long Beach introduces that the Honorary Port Pilot Award, the Port of Long Beach’s highest honor. Since 1954, the port has presented the award to CEOs of leading corporations, prime ministers, ambassadors, members of Congress, Cabinet officials and presidents, including Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan.

In Mar 9, 2004, Southern California Long Beach Port Commission of the United States held a grand ceremony for awarding Honorary Port Pilot Award to Wei Jiafu who was the President and General Manager of China Ocean Shipping Group.

At the time of the award, John Hancock who was the Chairman of the Port of Long Beach Board Hancock said that this year we will honor the 72th Pilot Award to Wei Jiafu, the president of COSCO Group, in recognition of his outstanding contributions in promoting the prosperity of the Port of Long Beach and the trade of the US-China and the world.

The coexistence relations of COSCO with the Port of Long Beach made Americans in Long Beach and other parts of the US to have felt the tremendous changes in China’s development and interests from the trade of two countries.

At the time, Mr. Wei Jiafu announced that, in March 11 of Beijing time, COSCO Group will open Direct Express Service from Shanghai to Long Beach, in the future; cargo shipped from Shanghai to the Port of Long Beach will be just 12 days, no need of other port forwarding. Through the Port of Long Beach, the transport of goods to the inland of the United States from Shanghai will also be more efficient.

New added direct shipping line from Shanghai to Long Beach will increase 9000 employment opportunities for the United States in port handling and transport.

2.3.. China's CIMC revived bankrupted German Ziegler

CIMC - China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.  is a Chinese company principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of transportation equipment, such as containers, road transport vehicles and airport ground-handling equipment.

Ziegler - Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co. based in Giegen an der Brenz, Germany, makes specialized fire trucks for airports as well as electrical tunnel rescue vehicles with driving cabs facing in both directions.

Nov 8, 2013, China's CIMC buys German fire-fighting truckmaker Ziegler reports that Nov 8 Cash-strapped German fire-fighting vehicles maker Albert Ziegler GmbH & Co has been sold to China International Marine Containers Group (CIMC). Ziegler, which filed for insolvency in 2011, was bought for 55 million Euros ($74 million), the company said on Friday, adding that all 1000 jobs will be preserved.

CIMC has extensive experience in the business of commercial and special vehicles and provides an ideal base for the expansion of Ziegler's international business, Ziegler can now have access to a significant technical expertise and a vast international sales and distribution network, which none of the competitors can only begin to compare with.

Feb. 11, 2017, a video the German township enterprise was reborn after being acquired by China’s company introduces that CIMC only appointed two management staff to run Ziegler from China to Ziegler, one is taking charge of general management, and other one is taking charge on the management of accounting.

Mr. Gunther Dorflinge who is the employee of Ziegler on interview of a China’s reporter

Mr. Gunther Dorflinge who said that he works in Ziegler since 17 years old, now is 54. His father was also once worked in this company since very young. They came to work and went to home together for a long time period. Everything he has today, his family, his house, was connected to the company. He said he loves this company.

Mr. Luan Youjun, the top manager from China, who said that, on Dec. 13, 2013, CIMC officially took over Ziegler. On that day, there were more than 600 employees attended the handover meeting. Where the German labor union raised their concern: after the acquisition, what will CIMC do? Will CIMC take away their technology, and then turn of the factory? Besides general staff who had misgivings, Ziegler's 4-member top management team were also on the alert.

They told me the truth later, when I just came here, in advance, the four of them had discussed many issues, and decision had been made; they actually excluded me in decision making. But that was just a short period in about two months.

Mr Luan Youjun made some reform soon, such as, in before the offices were separated by walls, people had to send email or phone call each others, Mr. Luan broken the walls so that offices were able to directly go through to each others, and people can discuss in face to face, which increased work efficiency.

Originally, the assembly of one fire trucks was finished in one workstation, now assembly was divided in 6 workstations as production line, which largely increased efficiency of the production.

Such improvement was easier in China, but, for a more than 100 years German company, especially the workers who had worked with a stable tempo for dozens of years, it was not easy to accept the change.

At the start, labor union disagreed the process transformation, they said that old production process had no obvious disadvantage, but, they were convinced by the large improvement of production efficiency, which well meets the need of the increase of orders after CIMC took over. Such as, Turkey, before there were orders in several yearly, in 2015 increased to more than 50 annually, and in 2016 will be increased to more than 100.

Mr. Rene Pol, the Sales Director of Zigler in interview

Mr. Rene Pol who said that Ziegler is a typical German company; the main focus was also the market of Germany. Since we were takeover by CIMC, it become more and more international company with global prospects. I always compared to the moment from before, when Ziegler was a typical German family owned company, there were more limitations, in that time, I was getting more and more desperate, because I saw a lot of opportunities, they only saw the risks.

Mr. Gerrit Elser, the mayor of Giengen city in interview

Mayor Gerrit Elser who said that in the beginning it was kind of you know like skeptical thinking about Chinese company taking care of German company, but, you know it is a German company run by the Chinese company, I am seeing that's perfect terms of successful working for Ziegler again.

Besides above successes in foreign businesses operation, there was a significant issue that may easily be neglected, which is the high work efficiency of the people of China.

The reporter asks Mr. Luan Youjun: you have been working in Germany more than 20 years, according to your experience, in terms of management, German company and China’s company, which one is better. Mr. Luan said: in the development, China’s company is faster.

As Sales Director Mr. Rene Pol who said: as family owned company, there were more limitations; I saw a lot of opportunities, they only saw the risks.

2.4.. China’s manufacturer revived American bankrupted German Waldrich Coburg

March 24, 2010, article Chinese firm stands on shoulders of German giant reports that: “Waldrich Coburg is the world market leader for milling machines established in 1920s. In 1986, the company was sold off to an American firm that then went bankrupt. Beijing Number One machine tool manufacturer took over in 2005.”

"’If an American company buys a German one, nobody cares two hoots. But if a Chinese company does, everyone is very worried all of a sudden,’ says Hubert Becker, the CEO of Waldrich Coburg, who has been with the firm for over 40 years. "

“Beijing No 1 took over Waldrich Coburg in October 2005. The medium-sized company belongs to Jingcheng Holding, which in turn belongs to the Beijing city authorities. So, Becker points out, Waldrich Coburg ‘is basically a Chinese state-owned company’".

                              Waldrich Coburg CEO Hubert Becker

“At the beginning, he admits, there was plenty of skepticism among employees, customers and also the general public but when the takeover took place, Cui Zhicheng, the head of Beijing Number One, reassured German employees that Waldrich Coburg would remain Waldrich Coburg.”

"’Our director compared Waldrich Coburg to a hundred-year-old oak tree that could only continue to grow on German soil. We also promised that no-one would be made redundant,’ recalls Qu Xiangjun, the only Chinese member of the four-person management team in Coburg. "

Qu Xiangjun is the only Chinese member of the management team in Coburg

“Significant profit jump since takeover”

“This promise was more than fulfilled. "In 2005, we had about 500 employees and now there are 750 of us," says Becker. ‘Our profits have gone up enormously. We invested over 30 million into the company. The situation could not be better.’"

“Profits have tripled to 170 million Euros. Even in 2009 – the year of global crisis – the company had a growth rate of 20 percent, whereas overall in Germany the machine tool industry fell by 30 percent.”

"’We had Chinese-like growth rates, which makes us an exception in the machine tool industry in Germany. Our situation cannot be found elsewhere. We were able to breathe during the crisis and implement our customers’ requests better than in 2008,’ Becker enthuses."

“Two firms complement each other very well”

“The Coburg factory has enough work to keep it busy until 2012 at least. The company has gained new contracts thanks to its cooperation with Beijing Number One.”

“Moreover, because Beijing Number One gets contracts in the lower price bracket, while world market leader Waldrich Coburg dominates the higher price range, the two complement each other very well.”

"’Waldrich Coburg is at the top of the pyramid, worldwide. Beijing Number One is in the middle of the pyramid,’ explains Qu Xiangjun. "

“Beijing Number One also hopes to get to the top, although it does not intend to step on Waldrich Coburg’s toes. "700 big milling machines are built every year. Waldrich Coburg’s capacity is about 30 or 40 machines a year. That leaves enough room for Beijing Number One," he says reassuringly.”

“A few years ago, the giant was close to collapse. Today, the German company sees its takeover by a Chinese firm and the fact that it is free to continue working as before as a blessing and the key to success.”

In CCTV documentary The heavy equipment of big country introduced about the cooperation of two firms after acquisition.

Following photo was the after-sales service engineers of German Coburg and Chinese technician in maintaining swing angle milling head in Beijing China.

The swing angle milling head is used to process mechanical components in complex shapes, such as the ship propeller.

The swing angle milling head is very sophisticated with a price of over the same weight of silver, only several large companies can manufacture globally.

Before, the swing angle milling head had to send to Germany for maintaining, now it can be fixed in Beijing in saving a lot of time.

The documentary also introduced that by in-depth cooperation of engineers from China and Germany, with the most advanced technology, designed and manufactured a world's largest ultra-heavy CNC machine tools.

By the help of swing angle milling head, it can process work-piece into any shape, the size can reach as large as a foot ball field, and the weight can reach nearly 300 tons. For example, the large parts of the third generation nuclear power plant.

2.5.. Volvo Unlikely Comeback Is Gathering Speed, Thanks To A Visionary Chinese Owner

Feb. 25, 2016, there was a article Volvo's Unlikely Comeback Is Gathering Speed, Thanks To A Visionary Chinese Owner said: “Sweden’s leading automaker, for its part, was at a bottom. Sales in 2009 had dropped under 350,000. The proud Swedes had not made a profit in a decade, suffering the negative trifecta of a diluted brand, smallish scale production and, in union-strong Sweden, some of the world’s highest production costs. Prospects for Volvo were so dim that Geely was the only real bidder.”

“It was early 2010 and Geely was about to acquire Volvo from Ford Motor Company for $1.8 billion. (Ford had paid $6.5 billion for the company in 1999).”

“There were serious doubts about the deal. How could a little known Chinese car company with a reputation for making low-priced cars of dubious quality — with curious names like King Kong and Beauty Leopard — possibly save a premium European brand, an icon, like Volvo?”

“Today, just six years later, the Swedish tiger is running free and strong. Volvo sold 503,000 vehicles in 2015, the highest mark in the company’s 89-year history. The Volvo XC90 SUV won the 2016 North American Truck of the Year Award. Profits last year more than tripled to $776 million.”

“For Li Shufu, the eccentric founder of China’s Geely Motors, the strategy was simple: “A tiger belongs to the wild world and not confined to a zoo,” he said. “We need to liberate this tiger.”

“To their relief, they soon understood that Chairman Li saw the larger picture. He encouraged Volvo executives not to focus on cost reductions but to develop head-turning large vehicles that compete head-on with the Germans. The Swedish management team set their focus on building transcendent new products, distinctive enough to make Mercedes, BMW and Audi buyers take a fresh look at Volvo. The head-turning new XC90 SUV moves them several steps closer to that objective.”

“Chairman Li has delivered on his promise to free the tiger. The Swedes are revitalizing their beloved Volvo brand with speed and apparent ease, which reminds me of Li’s view on complexity in the car business. ‘Look, it’s really simple:  A car is just four wheels, a couple of sofas and an engine.’”

The article did not mention Li Shufu's other motto, in order to dispel the doubts and panic of Volvo staff after Volvo being acquired, he said, Geely is Geely, Volvo is Volvo, the relationship is the brother with brother, rather than father and son.

In comparison with the wise practices of China’s owner, the former owner seems was going on a rigid way to treat Volvo as a son.

CCTV documentary Cross - border mergers and acquisitions revealed the one of the reasons of Ford's failure to operate Volvo, the director of Volvo Engineers union Mr. Magnus Sandemer said: “American culture also had a negative impact, they controlled too tight.”

“Swedish culture is everybody in taking responsibility; you don’t need to follow up on every level, because you rely on the people.”

3.. Why that work-speed of China's worker is much higher than that of others

Sep. 23, 2015, inspired by article Israel to bring in 20,000 Chinese construction workers, I wrote article Why that work-speed of China's worker is much higher than that of others. In article I indicated the reason that brought high quality of workers of China.

3.1.. The innate high quality - high IQ

DEC. 23, 2011, the article Optimal IQ's for Various Groups revealed the reason from innate level - intelligence quotient - IQ.

The IQ of China’s people were among the highest in any other countries.

North Coastal China: 115-118

South Coastal China: 112-116

Generalized Japanese/Korean: 110-112

Generalized Northern Euros: 97-102

Generalized Southern Euros: 92-102

Generalized Indian: 92-96 (they suffer from poor environment)

Sub-Saharan Africans: 85 (malnutrition and poor education, but age bias favors them)

3.2.. The unique background of outstanding culture

Mar. 1. 2008, in the article To Make Possible from Impossible by Breaking the Shackles of Dogmatic, I once discussed the culture reason of China’s success under title of some essential elements have contributed to the success of China. I excerpt some as follow.

Everyone knew that, in nowadays, most of daily goods are made in China, but people may feel hard to imagine the huge capacity of production in China. And some one said that China's success in rapid development is due to have enjoyed the demographic dividend, the views are certainly not comprehensive, because some other populous countries seem not able to enjoy the dividends yet besides poverty and blindness.

Indeed, besides economic reform, there are also many other essential elements have contributed to the success of China.

3.3.. Official designed language – Mandarin

Unified language – Mandarin has made social communication easier and to have promoted the efficiency of social production.

China, there are 51 different races, it said that there are about hundreds local languages, even if the same language in different area, the pronunciation may be different. You will easily imagine that the result of without an effective communication tool between people. Besides many times to simplify the writing of Chinese characters, in 1958s, the government of China published the pinyin system by use of Roman alphabet to regulate the pronunciation of Chinese characters and put in use forced by law. Now in China, those people under 60 years old can easily communicate each other. It may be only official designed language worldwide.

I have talked with local Canadians; they agree that, in Canada, the people from British Colombia are not easy to understand what they said from the people of Newfoundland. Even the people of Newfoundland have their own special dictionary.

3.4.. Rare poison of spiritual opium

Karl Marx indicates that "Religion is the opium of the people".

For the reason that China has rare poison of spiritual opium, Oct. 2, 2014, in article Why did China not produce harmful native religions, I indicate that:

ccording to History records, in 2400 years ago China, Ye County (Today’s Linzhang County, Hebei Province) was frequently suffering floods, the local officials collude with witch to conspiracy levy money by the name of avoiding river flooding by pleasing river God with a girl as wife, and thus drowning innocent girl every year and looting large amount of money from locals. A wise magistrate completely eliminated the evil misdeed by thrown the witch into the river with the name to inform river God that he will chose a more beautiful girl as wife in other day.

The fact was recorded in history books, textbooks and even picture book, in past 2 thousand years, it has been widely spreading in China, to have played a role as alarm, so that the people of China did not believe the trick of witch or wizard, thus effectively put an end to the budding and development of any religion.

For China has rare poison of spiritual opium, it also should thank for the thought of Karl Marx, which has been taking as social guiding ideology in socialist countries; and also it should thank the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution that had uprooted the superstitious beliefs in the society of China.

It led the people of China full of pragmatic sense to strive for a better life by creating material wealth with hands busy, rather than fantasy pray for the good life with hands clasped.

Most people of China never put their hope on next time.

3.5.. The edification and nourishment of Confucianism

People of China are not only smart and industrious, but also easily organized and disciplined. This point is very important for the collaboration in large-scale social production. Such outstanding culture and personal quality should thank the nourishment of Confucianism.

Confucianism produced in 2500 years ago China. At that time, like the rest of the world, society was in a chaotic state due to have no law as regulation. Confucius thought was mainly to establish an orderly society by preaching people to abide by social morality; the son had to comply with his father; the wife had to comply with her husband; the minister had to comply with the monarch; in social activities, people had to comply with credibility….

There was important part in Confucianism, which was encouraging people to study by any opportunities. Confucius said: in three peers, there must have one capable as my teacher.

For comment of easily organized and disciplined, the admirable success of China 2008 Olympic Games was a good example.

American famous journalist, author, and three time Pulitzer Prize winner, the writer of The World Is Flat, Thomas Friedman who once wrote article A Biblical Seven Years, in which he wrote that: “After attending the spectacular closing ceremony at the Beijing Olympics and feeling the vibrations from hundreds of Chinese drummers pulsating in my own chest, I was tempted to conclude two things: ‘Holy mackerel, the energy coming out of this country is unrivaled.’ And, two: ‘We are so cooked.. Start teaching your kids Mandarin.’”

“Obama is more right than he knows when he proclaims that this is ‘our’ moment, this is ‘our’ time. But it is our time to get back to work on the only home we have, our time for nation-building in America. I never want to tell my girls — and I'm sure Obama feels the same about his — that they have to go to China to see the future.”

China Wants Total Access To Canada, May Seek To Import Its Own Workers

China’s government is seeking full access to Canada’s economy in free trade talks, a move that could result in Chinese state-owned companies bringing their own employees to work on projects in Canada.

China’s ambassador to Canada, Lu Shaye, told the Globe and Mail his government wants to avoid discussions of human rights issues, fearing it could become a “bargaining chip” in negotiations.

Additionally, China would see any attempt to block takeovers of Canadian companies on national security grounds as protectionism, Lu said.

“Investment is investment. We should not take too much political considerations into the investment,” he said. “Just like the negotiations of the (Canada-U.S.) FTA, we should not let political factors into this process. Otherwise, it would be very difficult.”

Canadian and Chinese officials held exploratory talks on a free trade deal earlier this year. Lu told the Globe another meeting will take place in April.

Canada's ambassador to China, John McCallum, told the CBC that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "is very clear that we want to pursue stronger ties with China. We think that in the medium term this will lead to more Canadian jobs."

Many trade experts point out that the vast majority of China’s largest corporations are state-run enterprises whose executives are often hand-picked by government.

They also note that China’s notion of “full access” to an economy could be very broad. As the foreign policy blog OpenCanada notes, China’s 2015 free trade deal with Australia includes a provision that allows Chinese companies to bring their own employees into the country to work on projects, so long as those projects are worth more than AUD$150 million.

Charles Burton, an associate political science professor at Brock University, says bringing their own workers abroad is “normal practice” for Chinese companies.

“It’s not as if [the Chinese] would be asking something of Canada that they don’t expect from other countries,” he said.

john mccallum

Though China has been among the most vocal countries in resisting the protectionism of the Trump administration, critics say the country is itself a bastion of protectionism. They note China allows almost no foreign investment in banking and telecommunications.

Many argue the country has not lived up to the commitments it made to open up its economy when it joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.

China’s interest in Canada lies primarily in energy, and in the possibility of exploiting Canada’s oilsands, experts say. The country will push for a reversal of Harper government-era policies that restricted the ability of Chinese state-owned businesses to invest in Canadian energy.

canada china trade poll

Opinion polls suggest Canadians are split on the issue of free trade with China.

One poll carried out for the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada last August found 46 per cent support for a deal with China, and the same percentage opposed. However, that was a stronger showing than a poll six months earlier, which showed only 36-per-cent support for a China trade deal at that time.

Canadians were much more likely to support free trade deals with more developed economies, such as the European Union, Japan and Australia.

中国企业和中国雇员将“全面进入”加拿大

京港台:2017-3-28 20:50| 来源:环球邮报 | 评论16 )

http://www.backchina.com/news/2017/03/28/483673.html

Carole Vachon, didn't take long for someone to blindly spin this away from the Liberals over to Harper. Did you not even read the story about the Harper government putting restrictions on Chinese ownership of our energy sector? Did you not even read the part where McCallum and Trudeau are already trying to soften the ground by saying that we shouldn't be different than Australia.

Please explain why you think it's a good idea to allow Chinese ownership of our energy companies and also allow them to bring their own workers into Canada, taking jobs away from hardworking Canadians.

Maybe you're one of the many people with a public sector job and don't really care about other Canadians.

Canadian "nationalism" died in the 60's after Diefenbaker. He tried to keep Canada from becoming "corporatized" as the States was doing, to isolate and protect Canadian "nationalism", to maintain the status of "Canadian" and stop from becoming nothing more than a satellite state of US (and separate from Britain as an Independant country) as their media (and globalist views) saturated our airwaves.
That obviously backfired and the rest is history.

Our country will be destroyed. China has a very ambitious economic and political agenda as it wants to become the world super power. It will lavish Trudeau with money. I am very wary of any trade deal with China, period. They have a very poor record on all fronts. As others have noted, it is a bully internationally and oppressive domestically and politically it is an authoritarian state. I feel that the Harper deal gave away too much. I would expect any new deal to be far more Canada-friendly and gain greater concessions from China. As far as bringing in Chinese workers on Canadian location jobs, I'd say fine so long as they fulfill the forien workers requirements of seeking Canadians first, and be heavily monitored by the feds.

China is not interested in "free trade"; it is interested in access to Canadian natural resources, processed by Chinese state-owned companies run by Chinese state-approved employees.

They would want exemptions for hiring, ownership concerns, human rights concerns, and even workplace conditions. Anything that a China-approved manager would be doing in Canada would be designed solely for the benefit of China, including matters of industrial espionage and piracy of intellectual property (which they already do on an epic scale).

Only an idiot would agree to a "free trade" agreement with a communist state, with closely controlled corporations run by dictators. And so yes, we are probably going to need an election to straighten this out.

FIPA says it all. If we want to trade with China then it is imperative that this government sets the ground rules. If China is not willing to listen to us, then bye-bye. We have Europe, USA and other countries that are inline with our thinking. Economic advantages; of course, but at what cost. Canadians losing jobs, climate change improvements will be on the backburner, China is a big player and their clout can possibly decimate our businesses, welfare system(increased), our workers and eventually a voice that is no longer viewed as a country to listen to.

Absolutely NOT! The whole point of trade deals is to increase job opportunities for our citizens, and China's labour rights are extremely different then what we have fought strongly here in Canada for. The steel plant in my town was purchased by Essar Steel. They have stripped it down to nothing, racked up huge bills with local businesses, layed off workers and shipped in their own workers (who are not familiar with our labour laws and rights). They've basically claimed they have no money for the company or to pay their bills, while their parent company (which is owned by their own family) is making money hand over fist. They have taken advantage of corporate laws and international laws to avoid taking responsiblity. Now the pensions, jobs and wages of employees who worked there for most of their lives are at risk.

There isn't much mention here of what Canada gets out of the deal; it seems to be about China getting access to Canadian energy, even using Chinese labor / Chinese companies in Canada. Does Canada get the same in return? Free and unrestricted access to the Chinese market to the extent that Canadian companies can establish branches there and import Canadian workers? If not, then it doesn't seem like very fair or free trade.

Because of our ageing population, we need immigrants to replace the retiries. Chinese workers would already be skilled, trained and have jobs. This could be a good deal for both countries. Furthermore we would depend less on the US that takes us for granted.
Michael Comsa ·
Canadians they do have a fixation with the US. Without the US nobody will look at Canada in any way or just as much they are interested about Finland. The US it is the best engine Canada can rely on. Do not hijack Canada out of North America! China is not the ultimate solution. China is no more China before 1945 either. And technologic they are still far from US or Germany. Bringing cheap labor from China will lower the standards in Canada and will destroy the social fabric. That, in turn, will bring a lot of pain as infrastructure and public services collapse. As others are suggesting here it will be very difficult to make them leave, or just impossible. Why such a deep integration? The Canadian PM is second best paid in the western world and the Canadian politicians are not far. They need to finance their habits, they need a trade to be taxed. More trade more taxes. Canada should avoid integrating it's economy with that of the Chinese. China has been known to use it's economic to bully and threaten it's neighbors. For example, it limited the number of tourists allowed to visit Taiwan to punish Taiwan's government (which opposes unification). They are going after South Korean company Lotte for selling their land to the government for THAAD. Forcing hundreds of store closures in China for "inspections" while encouraging their people to boycott South Korean products.
The world should stop feeding the dragon until they respect their own people. Because if they don't even treat their own people with respect, how do you think they will treat you?

Canada's population is getting old and we need immigrants to maintain our way of life. We have a huge country that needs corresponding capital and manpower. China is expert at starting running firms in no time flat. They would not be taking Canadian jobs, but creating new jobs.
We all have to adapt to develop and prosper. The main problems are cultural where Chinese immigrants tend to stay together and not integrate with the community. On the other hand we are suspicious and feel threatened. In addition to factory workers, the package should nclude Chinese artists and professionals that would help integrate in our communities.
This is an exceptional opportunity that we should not miss because of our prejudices. We need to share our good fortune.

I don't think Canada wants to be a Chinese colony. There is a difference between trade and colonization. This is what China has done in Africa. Lu Shaye's comments cited in the first three paragraphs reflect the stance that the Chinese are calling the shots. End of talks right there. As with the TPP, there is no upside in this for Canada, just more managed trade and more wealth and power being placed in the hands of fewer and fewer people.
Canada needs to define FAIR TRADE and only negotiate agreements with countries that will 'play' under that set of rules, not some set of rules imagined by Alan Greenspan and other Randists.
Mr. Trudeau should be put on notice that Canadians will not "laissez-faire" ( apologize for the verbification) any deal that has parameters as indicated by this , so-called, ambassador.

Lu Shaye takes the approach,it seems, that : here's the way we are going to do this and it'll be very, very, very, big; just you wait and see. Sound familiar?

To tell our youth that they better get use to the job churn then turn around and even consider letting foreigners to bring their own labour to work on Canadian soil is a slap in their face. Economic imperealism tendencies of China are no secret. If you look at Pakistan, in the name of investment now chinese farmers are farming in Pakistan fields replacing local people. Similar is the case in almost every nation where China entered as INVESTOR and took over local institutions in no time by replacing locals and local investment. If Canada would not listen to this call, very soon like BC, Canadian resources are going in dragon's way. Chinese companies are mostly state supported with state control in direct/indirect way. Their currency is not free floating as state intentionally undervalue/over value it to literally cheat international trade mechanisms. Chinese are hegemonistic and ruthless if you look at the case of TIBET and its Dalai Lama and how did they overthrew his temporal governance by force. Any decision on dealing softly with China and its mandarins is frought with danger in medium and long term.

As a Canadian and non-partisan individual I am very concerned with this young PMJT working these negotiations. Still, we have no credible media asking these tough questions and getting beyond the LPC talking points. As well it is disheartening to hear this from the ambassador and not the Liberal government. Just what is going on here?
Glory Leung ·

well.. PMJT isn't the one doing the actual negotiations.. probably some Team but not sure which team.

That is totally offensive. If the business is located in Canada, they must hire Canadians.
Donald Leblanc
I don't agree. They want to play in our country, they have to do it by our rules. If they make they own rules (China) it will be ugly and even some Canadians will suffer from this.
Mercedes Johnston ·
Sold to the highest donation to Trudeau trust fund.
Andie Martin ·
Mercedes: It was harper who sold out Canada to China. Remember the coal mine in BC that could only hire Chinese TFW. Remember his deal with China that allows China to sue the government if they think that national and provincial laws interfere in their profits.

The Chinese have taken over big enterprise in many other countries. Keep them out of Canada. They have zero care for the environment and even less for species protection.

Does that also mean that we would have full access to the Chinese market?
Mike William ·
If the Chinese think that Canada will use workers' human rights as bargaining chips, they really have no idea what human rights are. They are SACROSANCT!! They cannot be bargained away with, EVEN if the humans in question wanted to sell their own human rights in exchange for higher wages or toilet paper or whatever!! Human rights are as fundamental in Canada as the Rocky mountains or the Hudson Bay, they come as a package deal.
Bobbi Jo Panciera
THIS IS FIPA (Foreign Investment protection Act) signed on by Harper, passed through parliament that allows foreigners making money, buying land and if you interfere with this even if they are polluting, you will be sued in a WORLD COURT!!! CANADIANS in the OIL PATCH that are UNEMPLOYED --- Trudeau just STOPPED you in the OIL SANDS from working and now he is selling it all to CHINA... and China is bringing in their own CHEAP LABOUR (under their own rules and not ours).... Get in the unemployment line Canadians....

You posted an old table on Free Trade Agreemnts from 2012 (we are in 2017), this does not reflect what the population wants.... no matter how you spin it.
Mike Kulyk
yes to investment - no to chinese workers ! china want to pay them and treat them like slaves !
Prem Sharma ·
Who don't want such a freedom, but in case of China, already don't want to talk about human rights. It could be more of spying around in addition to business as China did in Tibet before taking over.
Jim Ford ·
Beware of China. Every company they become partners in get screwed. Look at Paladin. Do you see Shanghai being fair in deciding whether to side with Paladin or the Government owned Company claiming the right to force Paladin into bankruptcy? Had stock on a company Chinese came in took all the company's land leased in China. Never gave warning or refund.
China may want workers over here to prevent employee backlash.
They may even pay wages equal to Canadian wages but when those employees go home the government will take it back in taxes.
Evelyn Rebman ·
China is flexing their muscles again. Investment is investment? Yes, but selling out Canada is Selling out Canada , also. Canadians should be hired FIRST and only after the last Canadin worker is emloyed, ONLY then be looking elswhere for workers.
Ellen O Day ·
You can rely on our fop prime minister and his double dealing ambassador to China to sell us down the river on this.

The deal will be simple: China will put Trudeau on Chinese TV and he'll be well lit and look gorgeous.

He won't be able to resist it. Screw the Canadian worker. I will be famous in China, he'll say.
Leo Doucet
P E Trudeau was once asked how we could help third world countries. His answer was something like "pay them for their peanuts". The Chinese want Chinese workers for obvious reasons. I guess Justin did not learn much from his dad after all. If Chinese workers are to be allowed they should be made to work under Canadian wage scales. We would then see how anxious the Chinese would be to take away Canadian jobs. Trudeau has been getting some bad advice. I hope this does not prove to be one of those instances.
Reynold Reimer ·
So they want 'to avoid discussions of human rights issues, fearing it could become a “bargaining chip” in negotiations'. It SHOULD be a bargaining chip. Starting with the right to collective bargaining and fair wages. And continuing to the rights of workers to live in an environment free of pollution. If they don't want to grant these simple things, they should shut up.
Ethan Right ·
One thing is for certain, with Trudeau and McCallum representing us, we will come out on the losing end of this deal.
Bernard Cooper ·
Canadian workers aren't willing to work for such long hours, for such low wages, and with low worker safety and no human or labour rights. To the Chinese, we're just a spoilt bunch. Of course they'll import their own slaves, uh ...workers.
Aimée Ménard ·
Isn't this why the TPP failed in the end? China's demands to control their business interests is so one-sided in Canada, that we could be fined or sued for hampering their business profits. We were happy when Harper finally heard the country's outcry that we don't want it, overjoyed when Obama told them to go fly a kite....
Now China's trying to put a new spin on the same deal, and we have the same answer: NO!
Chris Dondo ·
If the selfie prince allows this then we, as a nation, are doomed. Screw em, tax the imports from that comunist nation and bring back our jobs.
Sean Culligan
I am sure that cuck respects the Chinese so hard that he will let them do whatever.
Jay Tanche ·
Once again. Absolutely NO.
Fred Côté ·
Do not let that happen! Make no senses, you do business in Canada get Canadian worker.
Dan Johnstone
A. China allows skilled workers into China and company employees in leadership positions so we should extend the same courtesy.
B. Any Chinese laborers brought to Canada should be paid at least as well as Canadian employees and not subject to income claw back provisions in China! (takes away the financial incentives)
Bob Ellingham
So we have McCallum in China representing Canada and assisting in the sell out and numb nuts doing the same in Canada perfect two clowns who could not negotiate who to go through a door first. Why dont we just let China do what ever they like even set up a military out post. Trudope gets another million and McCallum gets a case of sake!
Kevin Fenning ·
How greedy do our political party's need to be, is anything safe for the people of Canada? Do we need to import slavery from china now? We have workers everywhere looking for employment but lets get us a few workers with no rights, low pay and no interest in what is best for Canada. We rush to the bottom so the parties can get more donations and enrich themselves.
Frank Ricketts
We have to ask for equal access to their markets and companies and then see how quickly their protectionism kicks in. China cannot be trusted at any level. They have to power to take over the entiore Canadian economy very quickly if we allow them to. And NO access to ownership in the neergy sector.
Steve Black
If this guy ... John McCallum .. is in charge ... look out .. Canada will be totally controlled by China! ... but Canada is broke ... and they (liberals) will sell, give, take, hide, lie, about EVERYTHING .. to stay in power and continue to destroy Canada to achieve a totally socialist state with no comprehention of reality! And .. no one working .. and ... everyone living in a nanny state!
Kathy Kilburn
Not a lot of things that would bring me out on the street, but this is one.

There are so many things wrong with this--the very least of which, sadly, is the incredible arrogance and rudeness of the representatives of the Middle Kingdom.

Sure ,let them take over while they have the strongest protectionism at home! Just goes to show how North America is for sale. Trudeau better smarten up and talk tough, stop buying into China's demands. Another Nirth Korea using money instead of missiles.... for now!
Wendy Price
We've already had a explosion of china in canada since the early 90's. They've avoiding paying taxes, using and abusing our housing to the point that local canadians can't afford to buy a simple home. BC economy according to clark the lying so in so..saying we have a great economy while local canadians students, seniors are working for minimum wage paying jobs, 2 and 3 jobs. While chinese investors have walked in here and our banks, government, at all levels have let them ruin our housing market buying 2-5 houses, avoided paying taxes on rental, principal residency declaring more than one house a pricipal resident. China shouldn't own any companies period, they should be required to hire canadians period, we all know how china abuses their workers.
Brian Morgan ·
If our Prime Minister allows this he need to go. Giving our country away is a complete discrace to all Canadians. He does not understand what is at stack. Jobs in Alberta will be all from China and the rest of Canada will suffer greatly. We have seen what happens when that is allowed with Nexen? Does everyone forget already.

Soon after they'll want a takeover of government. Welcome to Chinada.
Bill Corcoran ·
This government would be wise to take a long lesson in this policy and working with the Chinese in the Bahamas. Google Baha Mar and follow the disaster the Bahamian government is still in after 4 years trying to get out of the mess the Chinese left this government with. A gigantic multi billion dollar resort which was built by Chinese workers and will likely now bankrupt the Government of the Bahamas.
Dan Cebuliak ·
Trying to create the illusion that there is a unified consencus on the issue! Tyoical divide and conquer technique
Richard Lewis ·
China will want to argue that its workers would come already trained in handlin whatever new technology they plan to bring into Canada but that is not a good selling point since part of any agreement should be the up front training of Canadians in China, at the plants, and during the development phase of the technology, and additionally for whatever reasonable extended period of time it takes to bring them up to operational excellence. Other than that it should be "deal or no deal".
Stephen John Carey ·
Okay, now we see if Mr. Trudeau has a pair! This is our country, and we make the rules. There is no way any country should be allowed to dictate how they will operate in our country. Enough is enough !
Storey Jack
Trudope is selling us out. What about China's humane rights abuse. There will never be a day that I would sell my Country out. Thee Libs have to go!

This take over of the country is what the Chinese have already been doing in Africa.

Colonizing--they have the population to do it.

Perks for the faithful in the Communist Party.

Justin Trudeau is apparently willing to sell out Canadian's at the drop of a nickel. Trudeau has no core values of morality, no set standards, it is the players behind him who will take the financial windfall.

How much is China paying into the Trudeu Trust Fund? ...See More
Winnie Cornish ·
No matter how we look at it, we are screwed anyway, left right and centre.
Richard Michelson ·
Most Canadians don't have a clue what is attempted to be sold to us under the phrase "Free Trade" due to the marketing of our political hackies. Out of bloody willfull ignorance they assume we are just coming out of the dark ages and someone came up with the idea of tapping into foreign markets as if that is all this means. They have no concept that we have been "trading" since Columbus stepped on the shores of this continent. This current attempt of a select few to tap into our resources and technology does not always translate into Canada tapping into theirs. This is about a select few making fortunes from the many.
Kamran Abdoly ·
All it means that Sunshine prince got the money for his foundation and now accepting the Chinese rules such as take it where it does not shine and do not complain. He is a pimp not a feminist.

Mr. Trudeau. I will deal with this, and I would do it for no salary. Please let me respond to this request. I speak in a language they will understand.

Just watched a documentary called "Death by China". So disturbing that I will no longer shop at Walmart and will read all labels for made "Made in China". If Canada goes into business with China it should do so very carefully. Not too impressed with JT these days.
Rob Wallace
Please, we can't do business with a communist country that doesn't have the same values as us, this is not a good idea!
Ted Smith
Trudeau admires China's communist dictatorship form of govt.

It is clear that he also admires their slave labor and wants to replace Canadian workers with Chinese slave labor.

All that graft he took from China is really paying off now, for China.
