Only the person with a quality brain that is able to achieve a good education can be a rational politician.

Now, a US politician, the Juris Doctor, Mr. Judd Gregg provided a proof by his article Trump needs more than pure instinct on China that showed his rational view about China.

The cause of many problems in the current world is from the confusion in ideology. It is at that politicians cannot look at the problem in a realistic way.

Follow the article on the website, I made follow comments.

This is the most rational article from a US politician, with a brief, grounded narrative, from the level of political philosophy, to explore the nature of China's politics and economy, as well as the differences between the United States and China.

A rational politician wrote article to provide rational analysis, in more or less, may achieve a impact for improving the world livable by positive influencing those politicians who are in leading the world.

Follow was the excerpts from the article.

China is an autocracy with a model isn’t communist in the traditional sense. It is a merger of capitalist and entrepreneurial activity with central political control and industrial direction in those areas deemed critical to growth.

It is a distinctly new form of governance — and one where the people of China seem willing to forgo liberties in exchange for stability and economic growth.

China’s international policy can best be described as neo-mercantilism - everything is built to benefit the mother country.

The purpose of this incredible undertaking is to massively expand China’s influence and access to these markets, and their natural resources.

We have 10 cities with one million people or more. China has 105 such cities. Los Angles is our second largest city by population. China has 25 cities larger than Los Angeles.

This all gives China a disproportionate advantage when it comes to the raw material for the brainpower that drives this digital age

There will almost certainly always be a trade imbalance with China. They produce too many things we want — things that cannot be produced here at a competitive cost — for it to be otherwise. In fact, the trade imbalance is a reflection of the fact that Americans can have a much higher standard of living from buying Chinese goods at low cost at Walmart than straining to buy goods they could not really afford if they were made here.

China’s overseas commitments — the One Belt One Road initiative and its spin-offs — cannot be countered by us going it alone.

China is investing across a huge swath of the globe in massive infrastructure projects covering 68 countries and 65 percent of the world’s population, running from Asia, across Central and Eastern Europe, and down to Oceania by Maritime Silk Road.

We must quickly adopt a multi-faceted approach that appreciates the reality of China’s size, form of government and intentions.

Going with his gut instead of preparation worked so well with Putin, though.

Trump "needs more than pure instinct" with China...yeah, about $500 million more.

Well one huge thing the author left out is the fact that China uses North Korea as threat against the United States with their nuclear weapons.
Trump is the ONLY leader to call the Chinese out on this. He directly has tied NK to Chinese trade with the US.
Trump rightly does not see trade and international foreign policy as separate he is the only President to understand that they are one and the same.

Great article by Gregg although I dont like his flavor of politics. He touched on every single issue I pointed out on this comment board since day one of dotards tariffs spree.
Lets try this again. Translation=China has not and will not offer any concessions.
The great negotiator has already laid his cards on the table by making known we are getting "ripped off". So now his "negotiating" position is known.
In other words donnie is expecting unilateral concessions from not just the Chinese but every country in his trade war. These countries are NOT gonna offer even a percentage point of concessions..this is money we are talking about.

China is a 'fascist state', that is the only words you were missing from this fine piece.

Why do I bother. • 22 days ago
The author suggests that Trump made a big mistake ditching the TPP, and "The president needs to forthrightly acknowledge this mistake and direct his people to re-engage."
Firstly, the President has never admitted any mistake before, so that ain't gonna happen.
Secondly, the TPP has been redesigned a wee bit. It will not be easy for the USA to swallow the concessions they will need to make over the original treaty. The USA will think they negotiated better terms once, they should improve them now, it will NOT happen that 11 countries, plus the two more being added this year will unanimously agree to the US joining, unless as a junior partner.

RE: This means it can move decisively, unrestrained by the need for
compromise and consultation — or for that matter, for the rule of law —
that governs democracies.
