POSITION TITLE: Employment Consultant

There is a minimum of 1 full-time, permanent position available, working 37.5 hours per week.

CLASSIFICATION: Job Grade: 8

REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Employment Development Services

LOCATION: Across various locations in Kitchener, Guelph and Cambridge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

These positions will work as part of the Employment Services Team to source out jobs, recruit employers and place employment candidates in jobs.

EMPLOYMENT GUIDE:

Successful candidate(s) will require a degree or diploma in social sciences, CDP designation, education or related discipline and three to five years’
experience in employment placement. Experience in the application of career counseling techniques strongly preferred. Previous experience in sales, marketing and cold-calling a definite asset. Ability to source out job opportunities, build strong relationships with the business community and make new employer contacts are essential. Must be a strong team player, be results oriented and able to meet placement targets. Excellent ability to speak and write in English is essential for this position with proficiency in French desirable. Must possess well developed organizational skills. Must be customer centered and capable of engaging customers quickly. Solid knowledge of the local labour market and how to access the hidden job market a definite asset. Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office Suite. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
