CTA Lab is seeking a Laboratory Helper (Part-Time) and Government-funded Youth Position in the asphalt, aggregate and concrete labs.
Every task within the laboratory requires regular handling of 25kg samples (approximately). Work will require regular repetition of work manually and semi-automatic because this is a laboratory testing asphalt.

Laboratory Helper
CTA Lab is seeking Part-Time Laboratory Helper in the asphalt materials lab with available for part-time work from 10AM to 4PM consecutive day scheduling. Applicants with consecutive-day availability are welcomed to apply. Full-Time students applying who would like to have some employment, your application will be considered when you have a minimum of two-consecutive day availability for minimum 4 hours to slot in AM or PM shift.

Terms of Employment:
Base rate $18.75/hr + benefits+$500 bonus (conditions apply). Part-time opportunities available in-person. Start date April/May 2026** .
Job Description:
1. Assist with swift station reset;
2. Asphalt testing;
3. Working with and providing support to other members with laboratory test; and
4. Performing other related duties as assigned.
This asphalt laboratory regularly handles samples nominally 25kg in weight. Successful applicant should be comfortable in following standard test methods with ease repetitively and with accuracy. Individuals can expect manual and semi-automatic tasks.
Qualification:
- No asphalt experience required, will train;
- Numeracy skills, strong organizational, self-initiator, time-management and multi-tasking skills is an asset; lift up to 25 kg;
- Able to complete repetitive tasks with accuracy;
- Able to operate manual hammers and non manual machines safely, with training;
- A quick learner is required.
- Swiftly supporting team members is a requirement;
- Accuracy in execution through hands-on training and supervision by full-time members; and
- Availability to work seasonally throughout 2026.

Government-funded Youth Position
CTA Lab is a participant of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy program that is designed to support diverse youth (aged 15 to 30) become job-ready through work experience, training, skills development and wraparound supports that allow them to successfuly transition into diverse sectors of the labour market. Eligible youths for this position, must be between aged 15 to 30, with citizenship either Canadian, Permanent Resident or Refugee.

The operation is looking to fill the position, youth must be able to commit May to August employment (July - Aug if you are high school student). The employment can be renewed as a full-time position.
