八月电费单或将高低峰用电计价-Guelph
Guelph 地区预计将八月实行 “分时制 高峰计价” 的数字电表价.

Guelph 地区已有约 48,000 居民及中小商户业者，安装了法定的数字电表。六月中旬, 当地电力将以书信邮递方式, 提前 60 天, 通知消费者。 这样消费者 （居民及中小商户业者）预计将在八月开始收到第一份高低峰计价的帐单。
off-peak 低峰价 (5.9 cents per kilowatt hour), mid-peak 中峰价 (8.9 cents per kilowatt hour) and on-peak 高峰价 (10.7 cents per kilowatt hour). 计价每度电 高低峰平均价位 将达 0.085 kWh.

文章摘录 GUELPH — The smart meters are installed. Next comes time-of-use billing.
Guelph Hydro, following a mandate from the government of Ontario, has installed 48,000 so-called smart meters on residences and small businesses in the city. The meters are the province’s way of discouraging Ontarians from using electricity during peak times when demand is generally at its highest, and giving them an incentive (lower rates) to use power in the off hours.
It’s believed the measure will contribute to a more reliable electricity system and reduce the environmental impact of electricity generation.
While some Ontarians are already on the time-of-use billing, Guelph homes are not. But it is coming very soon.

By: WildWill Jun 2, 2011 7:59 AM I believe the whole concept behind these meters is to FORCE consumers to conserve as McGuinty's plan to close coal fired plants will reduce the energy supply and drive up the price. Does anyone remember when these meters were first introduced? The off peak rate was 2.9 cents per KWH. Today it stands at 5.9 cents. This is close to what we are paying now as a flat rate. Talk about being taken to the cleaners. Thanks Dalton. Welcome to Ontario soon to be a third world province as the so called middle class will be no more.
