Quality Management System Specialist

The City of Kitchener is seeking an experienced Quality Management System Specialist to join our Utilities Team.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS.ALL APPLICANTS FOR THIS COMPETITION...
1.       Must be reliable with good attitude and employment record.
2.       Must successfully complete a medical examination if required.
3.       Must have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
4.       Must have a minimum three year degree/diploma in engineering, quality management or a related technical field.
5.       Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience in the application of quality management theories
6.       Must be able to complete the DWQMS Course to be an Internal Auditor for DWQMS
7.       Must be an effective communicator (written and verbal) possessing demonstrated skills in working with various teams and incorporating/synthesizing information and auditing various areas of the Utility
8.       Must have proficient computer skills and aptitude utilizing Microsoft office and infrastructure management programs
9.       Must have strong communication and organizational skills to develop and audit the various QMS systems and related documents/ records
10.   Must have the ability to be an effective team member
11.   Must have well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with a wide variety of people
12.   Must have proven problem solving capabilities with an attention to detail
13.   Must possess a valid MTO Class ''G'' driver's license in good standing and a personal vehicle which can be used for City business.
14.   Preference will be given to those with water and/or natural gas background.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to administer the Drinking Water Quality Management Standards (DWQMS) and the natural gas Distribution System Integrity Management Program (DSIMP) and Safety and Loss Management System (SLMS) by ensuring that processes and procedures needed for continual improvement of the DWQMS/DSIMP/SLMS are established and maintained.
Additionally you will prepare any reports required, maintain documents/records, assist with processes related to water/natural gas maintenance programs, develop and monitor performance indicators, develop/revise any required administrative processes.
Salary: $54,245 - $67,806 per annum (Under Review)

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
