The Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) and the Canadian-Cuba Friendship Association (CCFA) invite you to join us for a timely public forum on the ongoing challenges facing Cuba and the growing need for international solidarity.

Building Solidarity Against United States Aggression: Cuba Under Siege

Saturday, June 6 at 7:00 PM
United Steelworkers Hall
25 Cecil Street, Toronto

As Cuba continues to face the devastating impacts of the United States blockade and escalating economic pressure, this event will bring together journalists, academics, labour leaders, and representatives of the Cuban community to discuss the current situation and explore ways Canadians can support Cuba’s sovereignty and right to self-determination.

The evening will feature presentations from a distinguished panel of speakers:

  • Victor Manuel Sanchez Garcia, Cuban Consul General in Toronto
  • Camila Escalante, journalist and correspondent for Sovereign News, founder of Kawsachun News
  • Kevin Edmonds, Assistant Professor of Caribbean Studies at the University of Toronto
  • Arnold August, journalist, author, and recipient of the Félix Elmuza Award from the Union of Cuban Journalists
  • Krista Laing, Durham Region Labour Council
  • Keith Bolender, award-winning journalist and author specializing in Cuba-U.S. relations
  • Julio Fonseca, Co-Chair of the Canadian Network on Cuba and President of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans in Toronto

The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and discuss how we can strengthen solidarity efforts in Canada.

Refreshments will be provided.

At a time when Cuba faces unprecedented economic challenges and increasing hostility from the United States, it is more important than ever to build understanding, strengthen solidarity, and defend the Cuban people’s right to determine their own future.

We encourage all friends of Cuba, trade unionists, students, activists, and community members to attend.

Admission is free. All are welcome.
