Psychological counselling and free course tutoring for high school students (Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology)Zhi Hong (Sarah) Chen, RSW MSW • 2020 06 28 Summer Class: Enhance learnings and grades
All high school summer courses in Canada are online this year due to the pandemic, which is a great challenge for students and parents. Because summer classes are designed to be intensive courses, they can be especially difficult for many high school students who are new to the liberal arts subjects. There is a clear difference in cultural knowledge between China and Canada: in China, science and engineering students can take their university entrance exams without studying psychology, anthropology, or sociology. In Canada, these subjects are generally selected courses in high school, and are included in the results of applying for universities.
With counselling and free course tutoring, we will: Help high school students with psychological factors develop a cheerful, comfortable, and motivated learning attitude. Some high school students have traumatic experiences caused by bullying or other difficulties in school or their childhood, and their psychology courses may trigger these traumas. The situation reproduces a flashback, causing the student to be unable to concentrate on learning and completing assignments.
